Community Partnerships
Our Turramurra Community
We acknowledge the importance of belonging to a community at Ku-ring-gai Kindergarten.
We are committed to fostering and maintaining strong partnerships with diverse community groups and members, such as local schools, OOSH, sporting clubs, emergency and health services and local businesses, (big and small).
These partnerships play an important role in our mission to provide socially just and meaningful educational experiences.
Turramurra Public School
Our collaborative partnership with Turramurra Public School enables the children, families and our team to actively engage with various parts of the broader community.
TPS invite us to a range of events throughout the year, from special gatherings and band performances, to gardening experiences or simply having a story read to us by the Kindergarten teachers.
Year 5 Buddies Program
The Year 5 Buddies Program provides our primary school-bound children with the opportunities to become familiar with the school grounds, interact with former Ku-Ring-Gai Kindergarten students, and establish connections with the teachers.
Not only does this program facilitate a seamless transition to school, but it also fosters a sense of belonging within our local community.
Local Sporting Community
We recognise the significant impact of the local sporting community, Kissing Point Soccer, Netball and Baseball Clubs on our children’s social, emotional and physical development.
Due to this, we choose to demonstrate our commitment by engaging in sponsorship activities throughout the year.
This partnership strengthens our connection with the community, as many of our children and families actively participate in these sports clubs.
Community Collaborations
Our regular collaborations include visits from the Rangers from the Wildflower Garden, The Sustainability Officers from Ku-Ring-Gai Council, Kissing Point Dental staff, nurses from our local hospitals, OOSH and TPS teachers and staff, dance teachers, fire fighters, local politicians, speech pathologists, local tradespeople and swim teachers.
Our strong sense of community is represented by our educators who have personal ties to Ku-Ring-Gai Kindergarten, from former parents to former students! This continuity and connection demonstrate our commitment to fostering a cohesive community philosophy.
