What our Parents & Children Say
Vision for Reconciliation
Our vision at Ku-ring-gai Kindergarten is for all educators to have an understanding of Australia’s First Peoples; to re-learn history; through better acknowledging the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives and experiences, and the importance of building strong relationships. We want to work in harmony with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and respectfully engage with their voices, cultures and histories into our programs. We believe Early Childhood is the building blocks for the future and want to have strong foundations from the early years to support reconciliation in Australia.
Acknowledgement Statement
Here is the land, here is the sky, here are my friends and I. We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of this Land, on which we play, learn and stand. We give respect to their Elders- past, present and emerging.
Code of Conduct
Here at Ku-ring-gai Kindergarten, we have a system to protect children from abuse. We actively seek to listen to and empower children in our care and teach them protective behaviours to arm them with knowledge of what is and what is not appropriate behaviour.
We have zero tolerance to child abuse and will take all allegations very seriously and will respond immediately. We support an inclusive and supportive environment. We uphold the UN Rights of children and have policies in place to reflect this.
